This epic tale of heroic courage, sacrificial leadership, and the struggle between good and evil has inspired readers for over a thousand years. While Beowulf was written in a culture transitioning from pagan beliefs to Christianity, it offers rich opportunities for thoughtful discussion from a biblical perspective. Throughout this study, we will explore the historical background, literary elements, and enduring themes of the poem while comparing its worldview with the truth of Scripture. Our goal is not simply to read a classic work of literature, but to encourage our children to think critically, pursue wisdom, and recognize God's truth in every subject we study. Ivanhoe Introduction Micah 6:8 NIV [8] He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. God calls his people to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly.  I am most excited about this book for Year 8 because there are lots of themes woven into the story that will allow us to discuss and explore topics such as: Justice vs. Oppression, Pride, Humility, Leadership, Faithfulness, and Seeking Peace.  We follow along with Ambleside Online' reading schedule for History, Geography, Economics, Literature, and Logic. We are currently working through the,   Year 7,8,9 in Two Years  with Ambleside Online.
